The Greens Encroachment Barrier System is an 8" deep piece of PVC pulled into the soil between the two turfgrass varieties. The top of the barrier track is a "tulip" shape. This provides a track for a special designed edging device to be pushed around the green. The barrier is pulled in to the ground in 100" sections and then spliced together.

The barrier is installed approximately 1/4" beneath the surface. (The 8-inch depth of the barrier blocks rhizome movement into the green and can act as a *wicking barrier between green rootzone material and the soil in the surrounds). Therefore, all subsurface encroachment (rhizomes) are stopped with no extra effort needed. The edging device when pushed around the green perimeter cuts all the above ground encroachment (stolons). These stolons are then vacuumed or blown up to avoid spreading onto the putting surface. The final result is minimal disruption and an aesthetically pleasing separation of the turfgrass.
